Hi all,

I want to learn more about the signals in HIMDP and STRAP a.o. to try to understand them.

Can anybody provide me (the more the better) information about it?

Thanks in advance.

You need Alex, for example:

APPLICATION SYSTEM STANDARD
4 ACS Program units
(Short description of program blocks, i.e. explanation of theirs functions)
6 SES Program units
(Short description of program blocks, i.e. explanation of theirs functions)

In other places of Alex should be more extensive description of blocks functioning, signal interworking and so on.

Then, you should have PLEX data base, full description of program blocks, programs, signals and so on.

Thanks for your reply.
But what's PLEX database? It doesn't ring a bell to me. And where or how can i get it?

I want to know how to interpret data like:

I can't find any education about this in ALEX.

1) If, for example, you set trace on call, you need Signal Interpreter program from SAM Tools package by E///. You can buy this package from your local Ericcsson representatives. Refer to choose your country.

2) If you want deeper knowledge, you should have programming experience and attend training courses from E///. PLEX you can get from your local Ericcsson representatives, too.

Hi, if you have access to Support Plaza you can download Sigview wich could help you untderstand signals.

One thing i didn´t know when i started to study them is that the last 8 bytes shown in STRAP are added by the system when you activate the tracing function so you don´t have to take then into account.
