Undeliverable message when scheduling meeting

We seem to have a ghost in our exchange system. When anyone sends a meeting request to one of our executives, we always get the following message. It displays the name of one of our old employees who has been gone for over a year. How can I get rid of him ?

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: GSA Visit
Sent: 6/10/2008 11:04 AM

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
<old employee's name here> on 6/10/2008 11:04 AM
The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to. Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address.

Delegates tab in his Outlook.

When you say "his" - who do you mean....the person whose name appears is no longer an employee and hasn't been for over a year.....

The exec. You deleted the account of the delegate, but the executive's Delegates list still has the deleted delegate mailbox as an entry.
