This might be hard to explain, but I will try.

When you send a meeting request to a user you immediately receive an Undeliverable message back stating that your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients, listing 2 people that don't work here anymore. He get's the meeting request just fine and isn't aware that anything is wrong.

I have check his AD entry and his email address, and account looks right, I checked that he didn't have some weird rule setup in his Out of Office Assistant, but I can't see anything strange or out of the ordinary.

Why would this happen?

We are running Outlook 2003 with all the patches, on Windows XP Pro with all the patches, Exchange 2000 recently patched up to date.

One other thing to note is that both of these people when they worked here used to manage the conference room and accept meeting request in its behalf, but we are not adding the conference room to the meeting request.

Thanks in advance for the help.

One additional thing, I stated to "a" user, but I wanted to be clear that this is just "one specific" user, not everyone on the domain.

Have you checked to see if the user has the former employees still listed as delgates?

Cheers.

Try exporting that users mailbox rules to a file, then start Outlook using the command line switch "/cleanrules". That will clear out hidden delegates, which it sounds like may be occurring.

Doesn't have to be the delegates on the actual meeting organizer's calendar - it could be delegates on any of the recipients of the meeting notice. Basically you'd have to check for these 2 delegates on each of the recipient's accounts. Seen this many times and it's always the case.
