Undefined entity?

I have an XML file. Whhen I parsed it, I always got the exception:
Reference to undefined entity "&char1;"

Factually, I don't care this undefined entity. Is there any way to get it around?
and, what's the final solution?

I think it depends on your parser, if it allows to ignore error-messages or if you can switch off validations!
