Hi All.

I have to call forward an extension to an external line... and I did it in this method:

Shortcode: *88
Feature: Dial
Number: 97055551212 (not the real number)

I dial *88 and the call forwards.

I create a Phantom User (with no extension)
No voicemail
Under the forwarding tab I tick Forward Unconditional
Forwarding number: *88
Forward internal
Forward huntgroup

When i call the extension I get a busy.

I have tried with a real phone plugged in, and the same occurs.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Regards

I didn't try to use * or # in forwarding target numbers and it didn't work. Forwarding to short codes containing only numbers worked ever time. Did you already try to forward to a numerical shortcode?

Hi there.

No I didn't try that, but will and advise

Regards

just forward to the actual tel number, no short code, make sure to insert the 9 and then the outside number, also if these are copper lines make sure that trunk to trunk transfer connect is set to yes

Hi smokin joe.

I have tried with just the telephone number and still no go.
i have been testing by calling from one phone internally on my network, to the forwarded phone. Every time i get busy when I call the extension.

derfloh: i did as you suggested and still no go. With or without the * the set still rings busy.

Regards

Well you're doing something silly I guess, because it's not broken in 9.1 :)

What type of trunks? also do a trace through system status, does this show anything?

Analog lines missing trunk-to-trunk?

Kind regards

Gunnar

Where is trunk to trunk in 9.1? I don't see it anywhere...

Regards

Maybe you're missing the lines as well [smile]

Kind regards

Gunnar

Ok, I'll give that a try... though I have never had to do that for any of the other ones I have done... and they have worked.

I am not letting my human error out though... (smile)

Will advise.

Regards

Indeed, it's only on for analogue trunks by default as they are troublesome for disconnect issues if reliable disconnect isn't configured on the line and working 100% :)

Hi All.

After reloading the 9.1.xxx onto my test unit, and shaking violently, it appears that now the forwarding is using.

As stated above, I did have to turn on the trunk to trunk connection as well.

Thanks for all of the help.

Regards

Hah! So I was right then!
(not bad for one that has never seen an analog line connected to an IPO [smile])

Kind regards

Gunnar

Why are you using a phantom user with V9.1
assuming this is to send n/s calls off switch (the most common circumstance I can think of for this) you can now set the Fallback destinaton to a user or short code as well as selecting a group
(a dedicated short-code is not req as typing a telephone number is processed as a short code & will dial out)

Yes Gunnar, you were right. And I am giving you a star!

I only know how little I know, and I'm not even sure of that!
