I need to create a BTLD disk by downloading OSS451B from SCO. This is for SCO Openserver 5.0.0. (I need to reinstall on a Compaq server that has SCSI hdd and IDE CD-ROM). I've not done this before, so I'm not sure if I'm folowing the correct procedure. I only have internet access on a Windows PC, so I downloaded by right-clicking on the link and saving to my PC. I then ftp'd to a live OpenServer 5.0.0. machine. I then typed 'binary' and 'put' the file on the SCO server. I then went to the server and typed 'uncompress oss451b.Z' This gave a file named oss451b. I formatted a floppy (format /dev/rfd0135ds18') then 'dd if=oss451b of=/dev/rfd0135ds18 bs=18k' However, this means there is only one file on the floppy (oss451b) and I thought it needed a .btld extenstion or something. It's meant to be an updated wd (Western Digital?) IDE driver, and I thought I would see something named 'wd'. Am I missing something???

this means there is only one file on the floppy
No, you've copied a filesystem image to the floppy.
You have now a so named BTLD floppy.

Hope This Helps, PH.
