Unbound data on a report

It has been a long time since I last worked with Access reports. I think this is something that I can do but I am not certain. Any shove gentle shove in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

I have to create a report that contains data from several different queries. I made the report an unbound report and then tried adding a couple of bound fields just as a test. However, when I try to view any of the fields, all I see is the #Name? error in those fields. I set the control source for the text field as =qryTotalRegistrantCounts!CountOfRegistration_ID. It may just be something incredibly simple that I'm missing (wouldn't be the first time) but I haven't worked with Access in a while and my brain is not doing well at playing catch up today... Thanks for any help.

You will need to add a record source to the report and then bind the various controls to fields from the record source. There are a few other things you can do, but that is the most common.

The only problem I have is that I am having to pull from several different queries that are not necessarily connected. If I set the record source for the report to only one of those queries, I will still have problems pulling back the remainder. Or am I missing something?

I am not sure what you want to achieve, so I will just throw out a few ideas

* You can use subreports, each of these can have a different record source.
* You can use domain aggregate functions, but these are limited in that they return a single value.
* You can add some VBA to fill in fields.

If I had a better idea of what you wanted to achieve, it is possible I might think of something that would help.

Sorry if I was being obtuse or unclear. Essentially, I have a database that I am using to collect registrant information and any correlated questions they may have. I have been asked to provide a report(s) on information that I cannot collect in a single query. In order to get the correct numbers, I have created several queries. I was then hoping to reference all of the data from those queries in a single report. I could use subreports (I thought about it and was playing with it after I posted) but that could get really intense as I may have a dozen or more queries. I am unfamiliar with domain aggregate functions (though a single value from each query is all that I require) so I will look into that one. And I didn't realise I could use VBA to populate some of those fields... I'll check into that, as well. Thanks for the help, Remou! I'll try to let you know how it goes (provided I don't get whisked away onto another "emergency").

I hope that it all works out, Chopstik. I am not particularly fond of Access reports and have often preferred to build something myself, but if you are in a hurry, a report may serve well enough.

Nothing personal, Remou, but I intensely rather dislike Access reports myself. I just didn't have a better alternative when I first started. I think that our senior analyst is going to put something together herself and I'll just provide her the data... We'll see how things work out... But just for my own edification, I'll look into your suggestions... [thumbsup]
