Hi,

I have a automated windows build that runs before I have to install linux. But I have 40+ stations to install linux on.

I would like to run either a FTP or HTTP install, any others that I have missed will be appreciated.

I can put the files on a Windows server 2003 or FC4/FC5.

All Help Is Appreciated!
Thanks :)

Thanks, It's what I need to get me started. Just one more niggle though.
Is there anyway that I can fire this off under windows?
As I build my windows station, I am logged in as an admin, so no restrictions will be imposed.

The Network Cards can all be booted from, if I can change this, that that would be ok.

Thanks :)

I have not done that; I would suggest you run it from your Fedora box. It may be painful to configure FTP/HTTP and DHCP on windoz.

I am also not sure if you can make the RPM install directory appear as "/" on a windoz ftp server, assuming you want to use the FTP method. Probably, if you really need to use windoz, you may want to try the HTTP method recommended in the tutorial above.

Hi,

I don't think I wrote my last message clear.

I'm going to put the RPM's, etc... on the FC Box. I was wondering if there was anyway of starting the linux install under windows. Or changing the PXE boot settings on the Network Card..

Hope that this is clearer.

Thanks :)

OK, I understand what you want to do and I am afraid I do not have an answer right now; I will do some research. My feeling though is that you will have to start from the linux boot disk necessarily.

If you intention is also to run the extra mile and try a diskless linux environment then you should be looking at a terminal kind of setup, where your /bin, /boot, /sbin will run from a central server

Cheers
