We have salesman on the road who are running Mcafee Viruscan 7.0. We went to send out a CD to them that contains an 8.0 unattended install, to where they could insert the autorun cd and the setup will launch, upgrade 7.0 to 8.0 perpetual license and keep the previous settings without them having to do anything. Can someone point me in the right direction? I haven't found much documentation.

Thank you!

hhhmmm, we had some problems with MID80. The several custom builds we made where okay when installing on a clean system. However, when a previous version was already installed (we tried 7.0 and 7.1) not all setting that we created in the custom build where taken over. We even had problems on Citrix servers where the on access scan could not be enabled anymore. Deinstalling all McAfee and installing the build we made for Citrix on a Citrix server without VirusScan was working okay.

I used the Installation Designer 8.0 to create the settings and it works great. The only problem we are having now is that half way through the install a box pops up that says "Unable To Create or Open log file. Logging is disabled for this session". This appears in a VirusScan Autoupdate box. I click ok, and the install continues. I am using the setup.exe /qb switch to initiate the install.
