Hi

I've about 100 tapes assigned that are not important anymore, so i would like to unassign all to make use of it. Is it possible to unassign many tapes at once on netbackup 6.5?

Thanks

Douglas

you can create a for-loop of a list of media through the command bpexpdate to first expire the images on the media and then you can once again use bpexpdate to -deassignempty

Howdy,

From the GUI (if all the images are expired) select Media and Device Management > Media > Volume Pool > volume_pool_tapes_are_in (Usually NetBackup). Hi-Lite each tape you want to change (just a few the first time to verify its working) right click > "Change..." under "Volume Pool" click "New pool" select the pool you want to reassign the tapes too. (usually SCRATCH) then click OK.

Should work.
