Unable to upgrade .Net 1.1 to service pack 1

I have been trying to get MS CRM 3.0 installed on our IIS server. It is Windows 2K with latest SPs and hotfixes. Everytime I try and install the service pack for .Net, it hangs (have given it 30 minutes after the bars stopped progressing). There is nothing in the event log other than timeout errors concerning the performance counters.

The software does not work with .Net 2.0, so I have to get this installed. The exe it is running is NDP1.1sp1-KB867.exe.

The exe should be NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86.exe

Have you rebooted the OS before applying it, you shouldn't have to but it's worth a try if that fails then try Windows Update.
