When i try to eject the cdrom with eject cdrom command its saying device busy.I tried to unmount it also as root.I tried to eject the cdrom physically as well. Any solutions?
Followint the msgs I'm getting
# umount /cdrom/devpro_v5n1_sparc
umount: /cdrom/devpro_v5n1_sparc busy
# eject cdrom
/vol/dev/rdsk/c1t6d0/devpro_v5n1_sparc: Device busy

divice busy means someone is in the directory or using the
files in the directory.

you can find the person by using command:
# fuser -cu /cdrom

this will give you users and process id for process using files in /cdrom. you can request the users to relese the /cdrom directory or can kill the process if you think it is safe. Then try eject command or unmount command.

OR You can also kill vold process and it would relese the cdrom.

If you're running Solaris 8, check that the cdrom isn't shared. If it is, you'll also get a "busy" reported.
