unable to start exchange

I get the following error in system event log

The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service terminated with service-specific error 0.

When I check the app log, it says there are 2543 items, but it's blank.

The M: drive is not mounting, how can I repair the exchange database?

Have you re installed IIS ?

Control panel - add/ remove programs --> Windows components

Remove it then re install...

Re load Sp4 if at Windows 2000

What OS and Exhange build do you have?

Will I lose any configuration settings if I do this, or will it reconfigure upon reinstall
