Hi
I am trying to share the internet connection to pcs on my home network.
I right click on the Dial up connection go to Advanced check the box allow others to use conection then when I click OK I get this message:
"Cannot Enable Shared Access"
"Error 1060: The specified service does not exist as an installed service"
Any Ideas??????????
Thanks Chris

What type of Internet access do you have? Dialup? DSL? Cable? If you have DSL or Cable I'd strongly consider purchasing a home/office router instead. They are very cheap especially if you don't require wireless. This is much simpler and more secure than using a PC as a proxy for the Internet.

Hi Max
hmmm probably would resolve a lot of issues.I will look into it thanks .

how are you using "DSL"?!?! i thought you said you click on the "dial up connection" and then go to advanced? if it IS a dial up connection, you can not network that type of thing with out multiple Phone lines, so if thats the case it will be a lot more cost effiecient to go with a DSL provider, because addtl phone lines and concurrent accounts are both costly.

If you had made a typo and you are using DSL, id recommend a wireless link sys router,as self reliant as they are they arent priced too bad. otherwise Cisco combo. Modem and router. it is in my opinion top of the line quALITY
