I've been having issues with security on an SQL Server 2005 installation (I've posted another message in regards to being 'Unable to add Users Group to Security Logins [SQL Server 2005]' in this same forum).

In addition to this I'm finding that I cannot see the 'SQL Server Agent' through the SQL Server Management Studio tool - whereas I do through other installations on other servers.

Would this issue (missing SQL Server Agent) be related?

Or is this a separate issue?

Thanks in advance.
Steve

Run this (and post the results here).

[tt][blue]
SELECT SERVERPROPERTY('productversion'), SERVERPROPERTY ('productlevel'), SERVERPROPERTY ('edition')[/blue][/tt]

If you are using SQL Server Express (2005), you will not have a SQL Server agent.

The results from this command are:

9.00.3042.00 / SP2 / Standard Edition

... which suggests that we've got the full standard edition of SQL Server 2005 installed I'm assuming.
