When browsing through My Network Places I am unable to see our main file and print server, which is also our domain controller. The server is running Windows 2000 SP3, I have tested this from multiple workstations and servers and none of them can see it, although they can map to it.

I have checked that the Microsoft Client and File and Printer sharing are enabled but I'm not sure what else I can do.

Any ideas ?

syscare.....

Sounds like you might have a master browser issue. Do you have a master browser defined on a server? Check the registry key..... HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser\Parameters MaintainServerList should be set to yes. If it is set to no then it will not participate in the browser election and won't become a browser.

I've checked this and it is already set to Yes, any other ideas ?

I also had the issue of servers not appearing in network neighbourhood.

I enabled Client for Microsoft Networks and File & Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks on ALL NICs for the server not listed and when replication occured it was there.

BTW: that is one pretty busy DC if you also made it the primary file and print server to. (depending on the size of your network)
