hi everyone.

somthing very strang has occured to my 80gig hd. the hd contains two partitions e: and f: i have lots of data on both but recently i opened up the e: and there seemed to be only one file visible, allthough when i checked the disk space there is only 2 gig free. there is so much stuff on this partition that i need and i cant see it. what is the problem what do i do. thanks.

P.S) the other partition (f:) is fine.

Bit more info please. Like what's your operating system. Filestore type (ntfs/fat32). Primary or extended partition? Created by current o/s or elsewhere?
Anything happened changed since you last could see this partition? Are you just accessing it in explorer.

i am running win2k but i have tried the drive on many different computers running different os's such as xp.

the drive is NTFS

go to and download NTFS Reader for DOS. its freeware.

try to bootup ur computer with that NTFS bootdisk and see if u can get any data in ur HDD.

but seems that u had tried connected ur HDD in a XP system and u still can't get any data in it, i think chances to get back ur data is very thin. good luck.

With kind regards.
