Hi I have tapeware (6.3 sp2b) installed on two machines. one of them has the files I need to backup, the other has the backup device (onstream adr2). Although I can see both machines in the network from within tapeware, only the machine where the storage database is located actually shows any content (drives, registry etc). The other machine shows no content at all (no drives, devices etc). I'm sure there must be a very simple answer to this but i cannot find it. Please help if you can.

Kind regards

Jules

Hi droolz,

depends on which version you have. If it came bundled with a tape drive I'm sure it is for single server. Then you might "see" other servers but can's select any drives or shares.

You'll have to upgrade to a multiserver version i.e. "TapeWare 7 Master Server Enterprise Pack" to bacdkup more than one server.

I have Tapeware v6.2 SP5B on a NT4.0 Server. I am able to backup mapped drives that exist on remote servers. I backup a mapped drive that exists on a Snap Server without any issues. You have to have the drive mapped on your server and change a setting in the Tapeware.ini file.

Change the [Ods-File System Connector] setting in the tapeware.ini file to include the drive letter. e.g.

[Ods-File System Connector]
driveEnable=CDO

where O is the mapped drive on the remote server.

Hope this helps.
