Unable to see 3rd party cube on PPES

I am trying to find a way to view a Hyperion Essbase
cube with Powerplay Web. First I use Powerplay Connect and
created a .mdc file on my laptop. Next I copied the file to
the PPES 6.61 I installed on a Solaris machine.

When I call

http://.../cognos/cgi-bin/ppdscgi,

I see the
Sample Cube (created by the original installation)
and I can drill inside a browser. But I cannot
see my own cube on the Table of Content(as described by the .mdc
file). So how can I add my cube or to configure PPES to
point to the cube I want in the table of content?

Here's some additional info:

- The Powerplay Connect .mdc file had info and logon for the
Hyperion cube that was sitting on the another server. So
I think we have all the info needed for PPES.

- The .mdc file was created on my laptop because I cannot
find the same utility on the unix install. I think this
should still work right?

- I purposely did not install Upfront because someone told
me I don't need to if I am not controlling any access, and
I am not using Impromptu or any other tools etc. I just
want plain vanilla access to cubes from the web for all
intranet users.

- Since the cube was a Hyperion cube, we do not have the
option of making it a Tranformer Powercube. The user
only wanted a quick and dirty front end.

Pls let me know what I can do as I am stuck. I am fairly
new to this new role also, but the documentation isn't
helping me...

First, I'll assume that you have added the cube to the TOC by going into the PPES admin tool (command line or GUI). Next, check on the cube property sheet of your cube to make sure that the option to publish it to the TOC is enabled. I believe that it is on the 'cube settings' tab.
