unable to run the antivirus

hello everybody,

my PC is behaving quite erotic , when i installed norton anti virus and i started running, it is opening, it flashes on the screen and goes , same for the avg anti virus, even in the safe mode,i predict the problem in registry, what might be the solution

There are several viruses out there that will close AV programs as soon as they are opened. I would recommend trying one or more of the online scanners available from

You should also check for malware using Spybot and adaware from the site above.

Stop visiting all them porn sites (only kidding).

If the above does not fix the problem then let us know if there were any specific problems before you attmpted the install of the antivirus software.

Another possibility would be a repair installation of XP, this keeps you files and most settings but replaces most the the XP Operating System.
