Environment:

SQL Server 2005 with SP2 and all SP2 updates

Problem:

Unable to run SQL job that uses SSIS packages EVEN logged in as a user with 'SYSADMIN' priveleges. Encountering the following message in the Job History, "Non-Sysadmins have been denied permission to run DTS Execution steps without a proxy account. The step failed."

The curious thing is that this used to work and all of a sudden has stopped working??? We do not have a proxy account defined and never have...and the user that I'm running the job as is a SYSADMIN on the server.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Is it a sysadmin on the SQL Server on in Windows?

Hey MrDenny...it is both a SYSADMIN in SQL Server and a member of the local Administrators group. We're using domain logins for access. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Sounds like either the account which is running the SQL Agent or the login which is the owner of the job is not a member of the sysadmin fixed server role.

That's they only way that you can get that error.
