Unable to run Report in another machine

I have developed several Report Specifications using
Crystal Report v. 6 from a desktop. Running the reports
is fine.

I recently bought a Fujitsu Lifebook S-series and
loaded the report specs. to the Lifebook. When I call
up the reports, some of these could not be executed,
with the message ".... illegal operations and will
shut down...". However, when I load Crystal Report
version 7 into the Lifebook, I am able to call up
all report specs. developed under version 6 and execute
them without any problem. One problem though is that
processing time takes a long while to complete.

I am not willing to save the version 6 report specs.
under version 7 as some other companies have my
version 6 report specs. Once I save under version 7,
I cannot open using version 6.

Can someone advise me:

1) What is the problem with version 6 report specs
that cannot run on another machine? Is there anything
to do with dates, operating systems? I noted that not
all verion 6 report specs fail... only some.

2) Why procession time on the Fujitsu Lifebook is so
slow compared to desktop?

Thank you if you can advise me.

Crystal 6 is installed on this PC?
Can you open the report from the CR menu?
When exactly does it crash.
Are the reports that fail the larger ones?

You should also follow the following thread in this forum, with a similar problem:

Hi Kenhamady

The crash came when I try to open the Report
under Version 6 using my Fujitsu Notebook.
I can open under Version 7 with no problem.

Not sure what to tell you.

Can you try having someone log in as Administrator and see if the report will open? Was the V6 installed by someone with Admin rights?

Hi Kenharnady

I believe log in as Administrator is not an
issue. Surprisingly, some report specs can
open under version 6, some cannot and just
crash when I tried to open it. Ironically,
all these specs. can be opened under
version 7. Can you figure out what are the
possible problems?
