Unable to retrieve Object - Catastrophic failure

VIA CMC when I click Preview, Enter db and parameter info and click ok the report crashes with this err msg:

Error caught in ICrystalReportViewerImpl::render

Unable to retrieve Object.
Catastrophic failure

HOWEVER, when I run the exact report as a schedule job, it does not crash...

Hi,
How can it be run as a scheduled report if it does not have the Database and parameter information it needs ( you say you enter it when running on-demand from the CMC)?

When scheduling a report you can manually populate the db and parameter info and then schedule..

Then check the permissions for the pageserver and be sure they are the same as for the job server..

Closed - Issue was with a null value on a blob field. As a workaround, right click the blob field and select Format Graphic and in the Suppress formula enter :

isnull(the blob field)

Note the blob field will not appear under Database Fields. You must manually enter the db field name...
