Unable to restore without catalog. 1

Product : Backupexec for Netware Version 8.5<br>OS = Netware 4.01<br>Backup Device (manufacturer) = HP<br>&nbsp;<br>Problem : After taking a backup .. if we delete the catalog & try to restore from the tape.. we are not able to restore.<br>For ex.. if we need to restore data from a cartridge on which the backup was performed about 2-3 months back .. we are not able to restore. Wheras the recent 2-3 days (backed up cartridges) can be restored without any problem.<br>&nbsp;<br>Thanks for your assistance.<br>&nbsp;<br>Regards<br>Kiran<br>
 
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;What you need to do it re-catalog that tape. Go to your <b>Job Manager</b> screen (no job should be running). Next press <i>Enter</i> while on the <b>Session Status</b> screen (as opposed to the <b>Message</b> screen). This will take you to the <b>Utilities Menu</b>. On this menu is the <b>Catalog Tape</b> option. Put your tape in the drive and select this option. Just follow the on-screen prompts.<br><br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Hope this helps.<br> <p>James P.
