Unable to reduce hd6 using Chps command

Hello Guys,

hd6 is of 7.25gb..I wanted to reduce it to 4gb
I issued a chps -d 26 hd6
it gives me
shrikps: temporary paging space paging01 created..
after that it just gives me the prompt..
its missing the 2 following steps.removed the hd6 and renamed paging01 to hd6..
After that when I check the paging space its still 7.25 Gb
How can I reduce the paging space ?
