Yep,I've been at it again, this time I managed to delete and hidden folder, tryed Get Data Back and Recover 2000 but they seem to show me literally everthing that I dont want ot recover, which isnt a bad thing. Is it because its a hidden folder that the software cant see it?
And jus while I'm here does anyone know if theres a patch or sumthing you can get to stop those annoying Messenger Service ADs that keep poping up, looked for installed ad ware but cant find any, any of you guys know if theres a patch or something to fix them for good, they do try and sell me software to stop the pop ups, but then I dont see why I should have to pay £15 or £20 to stop getting something I dont even fleppin want, cheeky aint they?!

First, in Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, View, click to enable the showing of Hidden Files and Folders.

Your second issue can be handled by nearly any Firewall, including the native XP ICF. Or, right-click My Computer, Manage, Services, Services, and scroll down to Windows Messenger service. Stop the service, then in Startup options disable the service.

Tryed the 1st thing u suggested when I was tryin to recover the folder, but couldnt find it any where still, anyone else heard of this happening? Bit of a weird one.

Cheers for the 2nd answer, worked a treat, havent got anymore stupid pop ups. Brilliant thanks!!!

Did you try recovering the directory above this hidden folder and seeing if it recovers it anyway?

Tryed recovering the whole hard drive and even looked through through every '00122', '001243', etc, folder that Get Data Back recovered, took ages and ages but still couldnt find the folder I was after. Real weird how its jus gone. Do you think it is because GDB cant see a deleted hidden folder or something mad like that?
