It might be a gateway error. I've seen this in our network.
We have our network seperated in two VLANs, with a backup server in each. Because of some security reasons there is only open for all traffic from the "NEW" VLAN into our "NEW" VLAN. From the "OLD" to the "NEW" traffic has been restricted. When I connect from our NEW to our OLD i get the "Unable to recieve". But not the other way arround.
Maybe there is a conflicting gateway IP ?
Try running some trace routes !
