Hi All

Thanks in advance again !!
I am new to Avaya so please be patient so my silly questions.

I have a DID ( used for Fax ) in my organisation, and I get a fax tone when I call it directly. The DID has Remote Call Forward enabled on it. Now, the issue is we can receive the Internal faxes on that DID but unable to receive any fax from External Number.

Call Flow is somewhat like this : DID (5196421881) -- Remote Call Forwarded to 9056257813 -- 9056257813 changed to 787813.

Apprecaite you all !!!

I can't see the problem is with your FAX extension that you have posted above. What you need to do is to find the Phantom DN of the remote call forward extension that I think is DN 257813.

Perhaps it is easier to start at the beginning and see if you have an IDC table in LD 49 linked to your DID number. If so, look to see where 5196421881 is pointing at. It could just be changed to 787813 to bypass any remote call forwarding if that isn't needed anymore.

Otherwise, just use DNB in LD 20 to find out where 5196421881 went and then print out the details. It could be a Phantom DN or an ACD queue or even a phone that isn't in use anymore.

If it was a phantom DN, then look for the DCFW destination and this will need to be changed to 787813.

You might also want to use the monitoring tool in LD 80 to trace the incoming call.

Thanks Firebird for looking at it.

5196421881 has no entry either in IDC table nor in Adaptation Table. And as this number is not in our system as I believe because of Remote Call Forwarding enabled on it, I could not use LD20 and DNB for it. 5196421881 is not even hitting our environment but 7813 (9056257813). In IDC 7813 is changing to 787813 and then I had the info of 787813 presented above.

I could not find any other information. What I only found is 096 3 05 06 which is I believe a Phantom TN (or Virtual as not much sure of it.)

So as a work around, Can I make this 787813 Dn forward (DCFW) to another extension in the environment ?

Regards

It looks as if the Telco exchange is sending 4 digits in on the DID range. That is why you have an entry of 7813 routing to DN 787813.

As the original number of 5196421881 is not part of your incoming trunks, then the problem has nothing to do with the Meridian phone system.

You have already mentioned that the fax works on it's own DID number of 9056257813.
It should just be a case of contacting the company who manages the number of 5196421881 and ask them to confirm that it is delivering that number to 9056257813.

Yes, Firebird Scrambler, Most if the DIDs comes to environment as 4 digits only and we have all this done in IDC table.

I am attaching a fax error if you can tell me what is this about? I mean is the issue with Fax Machine or the DID itself ?

Also, like I mentioned the Call Flow in the very beginning of this post

Call Flow is somewhat like this : DID (5196421881) -- Remote Call Forwarded to 9056257813 -- 9056257813 changed to 787813

I tried sending fax directly on 9056257813 and it worked but not with 5196421881, so I am suspecting the issue is with 5196421881 only. And 787813 is a L500 number, so please guide me how Could I activate Forwarding on it as CFW and DCFW are not working and giving me the error SCH0101.

Trace the circuit the call should be coming in on and dial the 519 number. See if the call is even making it to your equipment.

No, when I call 519 number, it hits the environment as 787813.

Maybe missing something but where is the 5196421881 hosted, on the PABX, a different PABX, in the carrier etc? When the call enters to the CS1K is that on a PRI? Is the trunk it enters on in the same gateway as the phone? What is the system and the software release?

HI bignose21

5196421881 is a DID on the carrier and it is a virtual line with remote call forwarding enabled on 9056257813.

And yes, call enters our environment on a PRI 9056257813.

I am very new to Avaya, so if you can tell me how can I get this information
"Is the trunk it enters on in the same gateway as the phone?"

I can get the list of the trunks but how can I make sure if the trunk is on the same gateway as the phone.
