We have a Tandberg (Quantum) DLT 8000 attached to a Linux 6.0 system and are trying to read tapes written with tar on a Silicon Graphics (IRIX) system.
When we try to read or list with tar we see only one file anf if we try to open it, the data is invalid. If we perform a second read or list tar seems to find another file but says it's not in tar format.
We can write and read our own tapes and have sent tapes to another DLT user who can read our tapes so I don't think it's a problem with the tape drive.
Any ideas?
