Very Strange Issue:

Associate with a company provided cell phone, is having issues whether in the office or outside the office in other states/towns calling another corporate office.
His office location is the primary site in the PBX configuration. He can call any number anywhere, except a DID number at the backup location from his cell phone. He tried a number of DID numbers at the destination site in different ranges.

He gets 3 tones, and a recording saying number can't be completed as dialed, and a code at the end. He can call other numbers in the destination area code, and several very close to our DID ranges, but not an office number EXCEPT, the BTN for my location which points to an auto attendant.

Other associates on the same account have no issues calling my location. He's had this phone and number for a year, and issues started 4 weeks ago.

My location is the backup site. There are 7 other survivable across the US. He has no issues calling them.

The cell carrier insists it's not them, and has offered to replace the phone/number for a fee. If it does, great, but what happens if we pay to replace the phone/number and it continues. Is there anything in the CM that can be causing this. Everything I've tried, doesn't resolve the issue. For now, he carries 2 phones both on the same carrier.

Thank you in advance.

Google how to do a mst trace on the d channel and see what the deal is - if they're really sending you a 'setup' msg when he calls.

All I can think of is maybe ds1 being 3.1khz instead of speech. Seen it cause problems, but unlikely.
Otherwise, ec500 mapping maybe? If his cell# is tied to an extension that can't call the destination of the DID...could be that.

But it smells like a telco translations issue.

Make sure that the Extension of the EC500 user that can not dial your site has permission to call your extensions.
Also, try removing the EC500 setup, and see if the cell phone can dial your location.
Any time you setup and extension to have EC500 the cell number looks like the extension, as soon as it enter the phone system.

Thanks for the input/direction and the update is:

1. Turned off EC-500. Failed as before.
2. Changed the off-pbx telephone integration phone number from his cell, to a bogus cell phone number. Worked, he can call any DID number in my location and my caller ID shows his cell phone number on my display.

What does that tell me? It's the carrier? It's the PBX? Next step to resolve this?

Thanks again.

sounds like the pbx is doing the blocking, look at the cor's and see if they have permission to call each other

try a list usage digit string xxxxxxxx where xxxxx = his cell number , just to see if there is any thing in vectors etc blocking this , also look at all pbx station mapping to see if the cell number is tied to anything else , do a list trace tac xxx/d put his cell number in the mst page for isdn calling numbers and then the ddi in the called number it should trace on that number.

Also what happens if you assign the ddi number to another station , call it from a differnt cell phone , list trace it then call it from his cell phone , what is different ?

ACSS (UC/SBCE/SM/SME)

Not that they mean a thing anymore , get a brain dump pass the test crash the system.

STEPS TO RESOLUTION.

1. First the COS was 0. Only extension with ec-500 and this COS. Not sure why. COS 0 had no permissions and was Y to restrict call forward-off net. Can't figure why all of a sudden this might have been an issue, but changed it. Still no luck.
2. Changed the off-pbx station mapping to a different cell. Used his cell for another extension. Problem didn't follow his number, but stayed with his "ext"
3. Removed all off-pbx station mapping, saved translations, added it all back in. Same desk phone number, same phone type, original cell phone number.

SUCCESS!! It now works without any issues, and exactly like it has for at least the past 12 months since he got his last corporate cell phone.

Very strange, first time experience. Thank you all for your thoughts/help.

The issue was likely the COR of the station, not the COS. You likely deleted the station and added it back with a functional COR.
