We have a NW5.0 SP6A server and the sys volume is reporting that there is 0.7gb of space available for purging.

The space is definitely there, I have checked it through Windows Explorer, ConsoleOne and Adrem Server Manager.
I have tried purging the space in every possible way.

I have been through tid 10072222, which says that _NETWARE directory has lost it's attributes, this didn't help.

I tried adding 100mb of data to the sys volume, deleted it and purged the volume and it only purged the new data I had just added.

I have vrepaired the volume and set the options to purge, but still didn't make any difference.

I can't do a Salvage as I don't know where the data was deleted from.
The deleted.sav directory is empty, I have also checked it through netbasic and that also showed it as being empty.

The only other thing I can think of doing is deleting the volume object and running a dsrepair check volume and trustee assignments, but I am a little worried about doing this.

Does anybody else have any ideas ?

Hi Dave.

Try opening up a DOS command prompt, change the directory (if necessary) to your network root (i.e. f:\) and type in:

PURGE /ALL

Hope this helps.

Make sure your logged in with ADMIN Rights to the ROOT of the Volume your Purging. Make sure that any Database engins or other resident programs are closed.
Check for bad temp files that may be associated with other files which were not closed correctly.

Just a couple of thoughts I had, hope this can help.
