Unable to print on Canon ImageRunner 2870

Hello,

We have been using our Canon ImageRunner 2870 as a standalone copier for a while now, and it has been great. However, I wanted to take advantage of the other features it has, specifically the printing and scanning functions. I hooked it up to the network, gave it a static IP, and installed the ScanGear utility on some client machines. It scans fine, and I can view the printer status on a web browser by typing in the IP.

But, I cannot get it to print. I have tried all 3 printer drivers from their site (PS3, PCL, and UFRII). In every case, the setup program finds the printer and installs the drivers without incident, but whenever I try to print it simply times out and I get an error of "The Document Failed to Print" with absolutely no useful information.

On the printer status page it always says "Ready to Print". I have a feeling that the job isn't being sent to the printer.

Any ideas on what the problem could be?

I have a similar problem with a Canon iR2200 - I found something in the parameters called a Canon Port and that sort of looks like my problem - everything looks good it just doesn't print - like it is looking at the wrong port.
