Hi guys,We using 5.3B and have a problem posting to a new year(2010) that was created on the 1st of April. i get this error, "Damaged data. Fiscal set 2010 LSL not found for account 5831COIAH."
What I have realised is that some errors did come when we created the year in GL, one of them was, "Account Fiscal sets. Database error."
and the other was, "Internal error. GLYRN: POST GLFISC2 failed."
The last one was just a message saying, "Posting sequence 7953 completed."
When I go to budget maintenance for the same account in year 2010, it has budget. Any ideas?

1. Restore from the backup you made before you created the new year.

2. Diagnose the database problem, or do a Dbdump/Dbload to freshen the tables and indexes.

Guys We managed to sort out the problem. We cleared all 2010 fiscal sets that the system was able to create from the GLAFS table and re-created the year again. The errors We previously encountered when creating the year was due to the fact that the machine where this was being done had programs running local and had version differences with those running on the server. We created the year on the server and the process completed successfully.

I totally agree and discourage anyone going this root. I guess with us it was a question of trying to improve accpac response time as it was very slow. However, running programs local means more work as any upgrades will need to be done on the respective machines as well. Dirty Work!!
thanks

Programs local does not improve response times, that is a rumor. The data still comes from the server and that is what determines how long it takes to load a screen.

What situation would require one to run programs local?

None in my opinion, there is no proof that it actually runs faster, and maintenance becomes a burden. In the 20 years I have been working with Accpac I have had this discussion with many people, and after many tests people have failed to prove that it runs faster when programs are installed locally.

The Weakness of Accpac is the poor performance..
i dont know why this Sage development team hasnt take any step to improve the performance? Accpac Consultants suffering.

There's nothing wrong with the performance, comments like that are unjustified. Accpac has done a lot of work on version 5.5 to improve speed and this does show.

My clients have no issues with performance at all. Slow performance is invariable traced to lousy networks or misconfigured virus checkers.
