Hi,

I have an user that is trying to plot/print to A3 from Autocad R15. The printer (HP DJ9300) seems to process the job but after a while, it will give an error message that the document fails to print.

This user has no problems printing to A4 and no problems printing to A3 a couple of months back(2005). I have no idea on what has changed. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the printer but the problem still persists.

Can someone provide me with some assistance, please?
Thanks in advance.

Hi jensenaw,

Try printing the offending drawing to a file. If it makes it to the file, then try just copying the .plt file to the printer (you can drag and drop if I remember correctly). This will at least tell you where the problem is occuring. If it fails, you may want to delete the plotter configuration (not the actual printer drivers) in AutoCAD and then re-add it.

My suspicion is the drawing file is corrupt. Try running a recover on the file and see if it prints, if not, start a new drawing and insert the offending file into the newly created drawing - and see if that works. One other thing, in the offending drawing, wblock using a window (not a crossing window, and not the * option) and select only the visible entities and then see if the newly created drawing will plot.
