Can anyone help? I am running Windows XP Pro and I am able to launch software CD's from my burner as well as my CD-Rom, but I can not play music CD's. When I put the music CD into either drive, nothing happens. No matter if its a burned, copied or original artist CD. It should bring up MS Windows Media player, as this is the default application set to run music CD's. I tried Winamp and got the same problem. I even tried opening the applications first and then opening the CD drive but it loads the songs in the play list section, but just would not play. Please, I would like any help that anyone can offer.

Thanks

In Windows Media Player on the Tools menu, click Options.
On the Devices tab, click Properties for the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive that is being used for playback.
Under Playback, click Analog, and see if that works.
If it is already on Analog, try Digital and see if that works.

If you can read a data compact disc but cannot play a music compact disc, use one of the following methods:
In Control Panel, start Sounds and Audio Devices, click the Hardware tab, and then make sure that the CD/DVD drive is listed, along with Audio Codecs.
If these items are not listed, use the Add/Remove Hardware program in Control Panel to reinstall these drivers.

A Disc in a DVD Drive May Not Be Played Automatically with Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.1 and Norton Anti-Virus 2002 (Q314993) If you insert an audio CD or a data CD-ROM in a DVD drive, the disc may not be played automatically, or the appropriate program may not start. This problem may occur if Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.1 and Norton Anti-Virus 2002 are installed.
