I have just upgrade my system to a AMD 1.1Gb with a gigabyte 7ZM M/b w/128Mb but now when ever I try to play any recent game I receive a complete system freeze(have to reboot. My video card is a 32M/b TNT2 M64 PCI, which worked fine on my old PIII 600 system. I have tried driver update to detonator 3(ver 650), Direct X ver 8 install, openGL setup but to no avail. I tried format and reinstall of win2k which didn't help and have also formated and reinstalled win98 but exactly no change. It also locks up when playing Mpeg's as well just not constently.
My DVD's play fine still though, and I can still do any graphic work I need to in Photoshop or PSP fine.
They only other thing is that quake 1 plays fine but if I try playing GL quake it locks up lilke the rest. Could this be a compatibilty problem?? any help please

You need the VIA 4 in 1 drivers version 29a. Along with the detonator drivers. These should stop the lock ups. Give them a try.

email me at butchrecon@skyenet.net and I will send them to you.

Thx butchrecon, I tried the 4in1 drivers before but they didn't help looks like i fixed it any way, I restored by bios settings to default enable VGA palette snoop and set VGA boot to PCI and it seems to have worked as I played a game for the first time this morning didn't get a chance to really test it but it played for a good 20mins so all looks fine to go.
