I have w2k3 server setup at home for testing with AD, RRAS & NAT, DNS. I also have netmeeting set up and remote desktop sharing enabled so I can work on while at work. For some reason, when I ping the home server, I get absolutely no response. I've done this with no problem on w2k servers.... is there a new security issue I don't know about or something else that's hiding my public IP address of my home server?

I always look to / blame DNS setting for this type of problem.

My other advice is to check the error message. Ping must say something? Host unreachable would mean a routing problem. Timed out, may mean a misconfiguration of TCP/IP properties in the network icon.

Run IPCONFIG
