unable to ping gateway

Hi Techies,

I have created a second micro-partition on my P570. When I configured the network I initially thought that the NIC was broken because I could not ping the gateway. Now I find I can ping some IP's but not others, including the gateway.
I can ping the IP of my server from any client, no problem. But pinging from my server is just not responding. These IP's are all on the same subnet.

Are you using etherchannel (and possibly multiple vlans)? If so, I ran into the same problem. I could ping anywhere accept from client lpar to client lpar. IBM has an efix, but no APAR available until Mid March.

yes, i have an etherchannel consisting of 4 nics configured. the problem is resolved since we deleted all config of shared adapters and etherchannels and recreated it. I can now ping as normal.

However, when we requested the network admin to create the etherchannel on his side using only 3 nics, he has the problem on the switch where he enables the etherchannel and yet the fourth nic still enables as part of the etherchannel.
