I am unable to ping the Server from the Client nor Clients from the Server. The clients will connect to the server, pull IP addresses but I can not see anything on the network nor access the internet. Any Ideas?

Server - Windows 2003 Ent One Nic
Client - Windows XP SP2

Couple of questions:

1. To confirm, your server is giving out IP addresses to the Clients?

2. The server is using a static IP address?

3. Have you tried to turn off the firewall on the XP computers?

Yes, the server is the DHCP...

I have tried both having it give an internal IP address and tried having RRAS issuing the address.

Yes the server does have a static IP

Yes the firewall is off.

From the server to the Client if I ping I get
Destination Host Unreachable

From Client to Server
No Reply

They can both resolve the Computer names and fine IP's for each other. I have run ethereal network protocol analyzer on both the NIC and the VPN Connection on both machines at the same time and I can see the packets being passed but no go. Very strange.

Are the LAN and VPN client on seperate subnets? If they are on the same, try putting the clients on a different subnet. It might make a difference.

Is it possible that you have a firewall blocking the address?

On my PIX, to make an outgoing VPN connection, I must allow all incoming traffic from the IP I am trying to VPN to.

The interal network uses a 10.1.7.xxx 255.255.255.0, The VPN client is being assigned a 10.1.7.xxx but with a 255.255.255.255 subnet. I have tried unchecking "use default gateway" but still no change in the subnet.

I dought it is a firewall issue. I have tryed adding the server to the DMZ and still no change. I have even tryed to VPN to the server from the internal network. I can access the internet that way but still no server resources.
