Hi,

Today, not sure what happens to the exchange server 2008. All outlook 2010 client prompt for password to access and for new account shown Unable to open your default e-mail folders.

Look like the AD of Server 2008 is not talking to exchange server.

Please advise what are the permissions for exchange objects (eg. Exchange Servers, Exchange Domain Servers, Exchange Service, Exchange Windows Permission, etc....) in Active Directory of Windows Server 2008?

Please help.
With regards,
SC Moh

Restart the Exchange Topology service and pay close attention to what error events show up in the App log. Either there was just a transient issue and that will resolve it, or something's wrong with your AD/DNS that needs to be resolved. This is something you have to focus on the error messages in the event log to resolve.

Hi ShackDaddy,

Thank you for your quick reply.
Hope i can restart the service tomorrow.
Do you know about the exchange security group permissions (default) assigned to Active Directory OU?

With regards,
SC Moh

Hi ShackDaddy,

on 16 Aug, without changing any settings on the exchange servers or AD servers. i can create the user account/profile on user's computer without any issue.

Thank you for your time and help.

With regards,
SC Moh

The AD Topology service regularly checks its ability to communicate with a DC, and when it can't do so, lots of subservices don't work properly. If you had a transient AD issue, that may have caused what you described. Often it's the result of a DC reboot, or a temporary problem with internal DNS lookups.
