Unable to open pdf files

I am unable to open pdf files by double clicking on them but when I drag and drop the files on to the reader it works file also this works fine if I open the files after opening reader. What could be the problem??? Please help !!

...on mac os x you can specify what files oopen in which app by getting the info of a file and changing it's 'open with' options...

...if your on a PC check the properties (right click) of a pdf file, ensure it is correctly pointing to acrobat reader...
