I have several users who have full mailbox rights to generic mailboxes so they can open and respond to messages sent. In the last couple of weeks these users have lost the rights to reply to messages sent to these generic accounts. The users can open and view messages sent to these generic accounts but when they try to reply they get message "You do not have permission to send the message on behalf of the specified user."
The mailbox rights on these generic accounts show the users have "Full mailbox access" and nothing is denied.
These users were able to reply up until a couple of weeks ago. This is about the time I installed Exchange post SP3 update (813840).

Have there been any issues with this update?

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The setting was changed in one of the sp's (possibly the post sp3 update), so now the users have to have the "send as" permission in order to send as the other user. You can set this permission on the generic account in the Exchange General tab in Active Directory Users & Computers.

JaxGW,
That worked! Thanks for the tip.
