Unable to open or delete messages in Outlook

Hi,

we recently "lost" the logfiles on our exchange 2000 server and had to rebuild the mail databases to recreate them. Once everything was done, we recovered and are back up, however some users are seeing read messages in their inbox that are now showing as unread and cannot open or delete them. I'm suspecting their Outlook is having issues relative to the Exchange issues and the folders Outlook has don't match up with the Exchange server. Is there a way to get outlook back on track with the exchange server?

Do you run OWA? If so, try to access those user's accounts via the browser and see if the same issue exists. If so, it's likely not the client. Try to narrow it down because the client should not really matter unless you use lots of offline files and whatnot.
