One of our servers is reporting the following error.

Unable to open database. (DATABASE=ASTPSDAT, EC=-46)

I understand that this is the Database used to log job information and think it may be corrupt. Does anyone have an idea of how to repair the DB?

I've tried DBfix and it did not repair it.

Thanks

HI,

YOu can initialize the astpsdat from the ARCserve server admin.

Click on the database tab, go to the operations menu and choose initialize. Ensure that all other arcserve manager windows are closed.

So it Shall be Written!
So it Shall be Done!!

I've already tried this and it fails whilst trying to initialize. Since I posted this message though I have completely deleted everything from the database folder, initialized another servers BS DB and copied the files into the 'broken' servers folder. Restarted the engines and it is sorted. A bit drastic I know but I was a bit desperate. Cheers.

when dbfix does not work try dchain and then keybuild, but in this case it probably would not matter.

By the way you can always Install ARCserve on another system to get a copy of a blank database.
