When I try to access Application Builder from the desktop, I get as far as the log in screen. Once I click okay, the screen disappears and nothing happens. When I try to access it from CallPilot Manager, I get the following error: Server not available. Please check connection.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Did you load the App builder onto your PC? Can you log into CP from IE?

I did install it on the PC and I can't open it from IE. When I try to open it in IE I get the error about the server being unavailable.

Are you logging into CP manager then using the App builder icon there?

Did you upgrade the server ?
First I would try to ping the server from the desktop.

you may need to reboot

The CP install is new -- about 1 month old. I was able to get app builder working on a laptop without a problem. I can ping the server from the PC I'm trying to get it to work on, however, it's Windows 2000 server. Could that be my problem?

Where was the laptop connect? It might have been plugged into the ELAN. In IE what happens when you put in the CLAN IP address/cpmgr(xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/cpmgr)

this is for 3.0 but I'm sure nothing has changed much.
AppBuilder requires
Windows 95,98,2000 Professional,NT 4.0 or XP
Explorer 5.5 SP2

2000 server may be your issue

I connected the laptop to the same port that the pc was connected to. I can get to cpmgr from the pc, just not app builder. It must be 2000 server

The first time you tried to open the apps builder from the new pc, did it allow you to see the application you built, but when you tried to open the application it gave you the server not available error??

I have come across a possible similar problem... if i built the application from one pc, everytime i tried to open the application, i was able to do so and make changes etc.. if i tried to open the application from a different pc, i would get the error message you are receiveing. If i was then to return to the original pc, i would not be able to open the application and again receive the error message as before.

The way i found to stop this from happening, is load apps builder to one pc, and always use this connection to change any of the applications built. you will also probably need to rebuild the application you already have and give it a new id etc...

Sean.

I tried turning of Virus Scan and that didn't work. I'm just not getting past the login page. I wound up using another pc without Windows Server OS and I have no problem. Not sure if it's because I have 2000 Server or if there is just somthing flakey with the setup on that particular pc.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Greatly appreciated.

Try to log in without the windows explode. Start app builder with the start menu, type in the system and log in....

Is you version of app builder the same on all machines. I found an older version worked on some OS bt not on others. All was fine once I loaded the ap builder exe that came with callpilot ver 3.

i think the server software is killing the connect. i've tried that before and everything looks right, but it just freezes..
