I'm new to Crystal and want to create a Crystal report using an Access database as my data source. I tried to open the database but get the following error message:

"DAO error code 0xc26 DAO fields Could not read definitions, no read definitions permission for table or query (tablename.mdb)."

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong. I need to recreate a couple of complex Access reports using Crystal. Many thanks in advance for any advice or direction you can provide.

Daisy,

How are you trying to access the database?

In CR 8.0, you can do it either by drilling down into Database Files (in the Data Explorer) and then selecting Access in the File Open dialogue; or you can create an ODBC DSN (using the ODBC applet in Control Panel).

If you could let us know which method you are using (and, if a DSN, the details of what you entered in the relevant dialogue), we should be able to help.
