I am trying to set up a dial-up connection to an ISP.

I have entered the correct information according to the ISP's instructions.

The connection successfully dials the number and connects and the user authentication works and I have my connection okay but my browser doesn't do anything.

After the connection is made, the browser just says "looking up host..." and then does nothing else.

I have installed the same connection on another computer and it works fine.
The ISP has tested from their end and they say everything is okay.

On the same machine that this connection doesn't work on, I have two other dial-ups for two other ISP's and they work fine.

Any ideas of what could be blocking this one connection would be appreciated.

My first guess would be that your computer cant find the DNS servers of the isp that isnt working. I would make sure you have the dns's assigned in the dialer and that in your tcp/ip in the network control panel you do not have any dns's assigned. That would be my first guess. You could try pulling pages by IP and if that works then it is definitely a DNS issue. Questions/comments/concernts to addy below

Make some ping to a website, if you can ping a website then a think the problem si within your browser check if you have set a proxy. Ask your isp support about the proxy. if there is no problem on your browser configuration and you can ping or traceroute a website then try another browser maybe there is a problem with your browser. But if you cant ping or traceroute a website and you cant do anything with that connection i think you should re install your dial up networking, maybe its not working properly.
