Greetings all,

I have a very strang problem at hand.

Whenever I want to open a link in a new window, using [SHIFT]+left click, the new window will never load the page. It is as if frozen, yet not, and not even the progress-bar comes up. The only way to open the page in another window is to copy the links-url, open a new window, and paste the url into address bar. Not even links that have a script calling a new windows will work.

Everything was working fine untill a few days ago. I didn't do anything perticular, I wasn't installing any new softwares. The strangest part, now that I think of it, is that the problem came gradually. In the beginning a few new windows would act like this, others would work fine. But now, it doesnt work at all.

I do have a pop-up blocker software, but they have never hinderd me from using [SHIFT]+left click, and I've even tried to turn it off, but still no success.

Does anyone know what could solve this? Cause I wouldn't like to reinstall windows just to fixe one problem.

Thanks in advance,
Sincerly,
/Martin

Which Broswer are you using?

Assuming IE6 or 7, have a look at Tools/ Internet Options/ Advanced, "Reuse window for launching shortcuts", see what is checked in there.

Internet Explorer Fix (IE6)

Try IE7 with No Add-ons.

Make sure your other options in IE/ Tools/ Internet Options/ Advanced are correct.

Uncheck any boxes for "Install on Demand" for IE and Other programs.

Try running temporarily with the other box "Enable Third Party Browser Extensions" unchecked and see how this goes.

"This specifies that you want to disable features you installed for use with Internet Explorer that may have been created by companies other than Microsoft.
If you encounter problems with Internet Explorer that you cannot resolve, you can use this option to help determine if third-party features are causing the problems without uninstalling the feature. You must restart Internet Explorer after turning this option on or off."

If that stops your errors, you will know where the trouble is.
