'Unable to load locale categories' when accessing data?

I'm running Crystal Reports 2008 and am just transferring from a Win XP machine to a Windows 7 machine.

Crystal Reports has installed fine, and I've also installed the Informix access components, the Datadirect ODBC drivers and the ODBC connections, with them all configured as on the previous machine.

However, I can't get the reports linking using the CR Informix 5.20 driver to work - I'm getting and error -

Details: HY000: [Crystal Reports][ODBC Informix Driver][Informix] Unable to Load Locale Categories. [Database Vendor Code: -23101]

Can anyone help - its driving me and my IT team nuts!!!!!

From what I can find on Google, it appears that ypou may not have set the registry value for the..

INFORMIXDIR

so this might be how to insure that :

We've checked this already, and the registry is correct.

During the transfer, we simply exported the relevant ODBC keys and imported them to the new machine's registry.

The two machines are now set up exactly the same.

The strange thing is that all the system DSN connections test connect fine, and they all work against their various sources in Crystal 2008 fine EXCEPT the Informix ones (which are using the Business Objects 5.3 version drivers supplied with Reports 2008).

We've checked all the PC locale categories etc without success, and nothing on the Informix DB has been changed.

I guess we'll have to keep looking.......
