unable to launch IE v6 using "run as" ...need help

is there a policy and if so does anyone know where it is located? This use to work but not anymore...

secondary log in running. and running under local system acct. I stopped and restarted it to make sure.

also, the acct I'm using do not have blank passwords.

thanks for any help.
 
Is it only IE6, or is it all programs? Is the RunAs option listed on the drop down menu?

Group Policy setting.

"DO not request alternate credentials".

(User Configuration/Administrative Templates/ Windows Components/ Windows Explorer)
 
It will work if you run it from C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer...if not, try to hold down shift and right click.

Always an alternative to run anything as another user is running command prompt with right clicking it in the windows root directory and clicking "Run As". From there you can run anything as another user but will need to type instead of click.
 
You can also go out to a command prompt and type:

runas /user:domain\username path_to_program

You'll be prompted for the username's password.
